Scarborough Falsgrave Park, Green Flag Awards Green Flag Award
Green Flag Award 2005 & 2006

Falsgrave Park in Scarborough was the first Park in the Borough to achieve Green Flag status. This was first awarded in 2005, and in 2006 the Park retained the award. The award is made by Cabe space and Civic Trust, and is an indication of a high standard in a park (and is similar to a Blue Flag award for beaches).

Judges visiting the park were looking for a safe environment, good maintenance standards, evidence of sustainability, conservation, heritage, marketing and mangement of the park.

Achievements in the park have been made possible by a strong partnership between the local authority, Parks & Countryside services and the Friends of Falsgrave Park. As a result the park now boasts a graffiti/kick wall, improved signage, stone circle, wildflower meadow and its very own totem pole.
