The following attractions are accessible. They are, however, only a selection of attractions with such facilities. A further list can be found by searching the What to Do section of this website.

Dalby Forest
Being confined to a wheelchair or being a little unsteady on your feet does not mean you can't enjoy Dalby Forest. Most of the popular areas are accessible and there is a scenic route around Staintondale Lake providing easy access for the less able-bodied, wheelchair users and parents with pushchairs. The route is on compacted stone paths and boardwalk with the maximum gradient being 10%. Manual wheelchair users may need assistance. There are also wheelchair-adapted picnic tables in the forest. For further information, please telephone 01751 460295.

Scarborough Castle and Whitby Abbey
Special audio tours are included in the admission price at Scarborough Castle and Whitby Abbey. Please be aware that the remains can be hazardous due to unfenced ditches, moat and ramparts.
English Heritage

Shuttleworth Garden, Scarborough
This special garden - a sensory garden with aromatic plants in raised beds - is situated opposite the Clock Tower on the Esplanade.

Stephen Joseph Theatre
The building is fully accessible for wheelchair users and has ramped access from the street, three fully-adapted toilets and a lift providing level access to both the theatres. An infra-red audio system is available in both theatres and the McCarthy theatre also has an induction loop. Signed performances are organised for each production. Audio-described performances are also organised for each production with the on-stage action relayed through the headsets by a professional audio describer. Touch tours take place before each audio described performance. For further information please telephone 01723 370541.
