Photo of the North Yorkshire Moors North Yorkshire Moors

The North Yorkshire Moors stretch north from the Derwent valley up to the Cleveland Hills, south of the Tees.

The sandstone and limestone hills have formed a spectacularly rugged landscape with wide heather clad moorlands on the open tops and farming communities and villages in the many sheltered valleys.
