Staintondale is a village north of Scarborough, off the A165 and on the footpath and cycleway which follows the track of the old railway between Whitby and Scarborough.

This village hosts two unusual attractions, a shire horse centre and a llama trekking centre. These centres each offer an opportunity to experience their animals, but in very different ways.
