Bempton

Welcome to Bempton – home of one of the UK's top wildlife spectacles, and the most accessible seabird colony in the UK. Each year, over 500,000 seabirds gather between March and October to raise a family, including guillemots, razorbills, kittiwakes and adorable puffins at Bempton Cliffs Nature Reserve.

With six viewing points – each with built-in wheelchair bays - perched on the cliff tops, you can admire the spectacular views along the Yorkshire coastline and enjoy watching the nesting birds. Wander the half mile nature trail which winds its way around the reserve through scrub and grassland habitats, and ask the volunteers on hand if you need help identifying any of the birds.

Discovery Backpacks containing binoculars, spotter sheets, a bird book and magnifying bug pot are available for young explorers to get closer to nature, plus Wildlife Walks run between May to August. Seabird cruises from nearby Bridlington Harbour between May to September, allowing you to get up close and personal with puffins, gannets, guillemots and more.

The visitor centre has a gift shop and café serving light refreshments, with outdoor seating and picnic tables available.
