Beaches on the Yorkshire Coast are some of the best in the UK. From busy seaside hotspots to quiet cliff hidden beaches, there is something for everyone to enjoy throughout the year. Dog friendly beaches
For dog owners (and lovers), there is no better feeling than watching them bound, hop and leap in the sea, followed by a quick shake-off and running until their heart's content over our sweeping, sandy bays. Nevertheless, we want our visitors and residents to enjoy the beaches too and from 1 May until 30 September, North Yorkshire Council has put in place a bylaw that states no person in charge of a dog (other than a trained assistance dog) will, without reasonable excuse, be allowed on certain areas of specific beaches.

Please note: Cayton Bay, Runswick Bay, Robin Hood's Bay, Staithes, Port Mulgrave, Hayburn Wyke, Kettleness, Saltwick Bay and Hunmanby Gap currently have no dog restrictions in place.
